Take a look around and see some of the things that we have to offer in Baud Town. You'll find that "BT," as we call it, is a very different sort of BBS. The emphasis in BT is on people and BT is focused on being a "social" BBS as opposed to be games- or file- oriented. Remember the line from the theme for the TV show "Cheers" that says "...a place where everybody knows your name"? That's how we view BT.

BT users cover an enormous age range, with the bulk of our users falling into the 15 to 25 year-old age range. Besides on-line communications, our users and the board itself regularly organize board-wide social and athletic events. As a convenience, we offer the usual selection of file libraries, but that is not the main purpose behind our existance.

BT was founded by Fred and Linda Gernand some six years ago and was among the very first 32 line chat boards in southern California. Fred, BT's original Mayor, firmly believed that everyone should have access to social BBS's. Since its founding, BT has offered free access to all users, with limitations on the paid users designed to assure access for the paid users who make financial contributions to the board. The monthly deficit of BT is absorbed by its owners and the special contributions from certain of its more affluent users.
