Baud Town is fun and easy to connect to. It's a 32 line SLDX BBS, with all 32 lines running up to 14,400 bps. While Baud Town functions primarily as a chat BBS, its Library has an extensive collection of files for both Mac and PC machines. There are around 1000 active users, and there's always someone interesting to talk to online.

Baud Town's relays cover much of the Southern California area, So as to reduce phone charges as much as possible (Since Baud Town does have free access , the only thing a user pays for is the phone call it takes to connect).

Baud Town uses a voice verification system to quickly and accurately verify all new users. Once verifed, New Users get a trial key four for two weeks to test all the features of Baud Town. After those two weeks are up, a key 2 is given to the user which still allows acess to the major sections of BT, excluding the library.
